Why book a Zanzibar package with Dream World Adventures?

Why book a Zanzibar package through a specialist tour operator like ourselves, which includes your return flights, accommodation on Zanzibar and airport to hotel transfers, you may ask? These days it is just so easy to book each of the package components directly with the airlines and hotels. Our explanation here below will have you see the benefits of such a choice.
We receive significant discounts from our preferred suppliers on Zanzibar that we then in turn package together with the remaining travel components in order to offer you our Zanzibar specials. If you book your travel package components separately and in the event that your flight is delayed, you will need to try and contact the hotel and/or the transfer company to update them with the changes. Communication on Zanzibar is often not as easy as what you may be accustomed to, so it may prove challenging.

We have personally visited Zanzibar Island on many occasions in the past, stayed and visited most of the best hotels on Zanzibar that includes My Blue Hotel, few other travel consultants are able to say the same!

What if you need to change your itinerary due to an unforeseen personal problem? Instead of speaking to one person to make things quick and easy, you again will need to contact people that do not offer a 24 hour emergency contact number!

Zanzibar holiday packages

The transformation of Zanzibar since 1993 has been astonishing, first being a purely adventure destination to what is available today.
Zanzibar has undergone an unbelievable transformation since 1993, when it was first a purely adventure destination to being a destination that is today a paradise for travellers.
The island of Zanzibar is no longer just for adventure seekers looking for a rustic environment and amazing scuba diving.
Zanzibar’s beach resorts are becoming increasingly popular with international hotel brands, increasing the level of service and quality of accommodation available to guests. More families and young couples are now enjoying their holidays or honeymooning on the island.

We at Dream World Adventures are constantly reviewing the list of hotels on Zanzibar, and by doing so we can provide our clients with a shortlist of hotels that keep them longing to go back.
Our criteria include, but is not limited to, location on the island, service provided to guests, and affordability.
We don’t offer cheap packages that provide us with short-term rewards.
To have our clients return to us for future vacations and adventures, we work hard to provide incredible experiences at an affordable price.

Our current list of highly recommended Zanzibar resort is

When is the best time to go to Zanzibar?

Although it is always asked by our clients, providing a quick answer is more difficult than it appears.
In Zanzibar, any time of year is a good time to visit. Due to its proximity to the equator, the climate is perpetually warm and tropical, without the defined winter and summer months we are accustomed to.
The answer depends on several unique factors, most of which are influenced by the needs of each individual traveller.

The answer is very straight forward if you are looking for a Zanzibar special holiday package that will allow you to stay at the most affordable price.
When booking your Zanzibar holiday, allow yourself 3 to 6 months between booking and departure.
This will save you money on airfare, enable you to qualify for early booking discounts, and ensure you get the best deal on Zanzibar resorts.
Travel insurance is essential if you are worried about unforeseen events affecting your trip in the future.
When possible, avoid traveling during school and public holidays. However, if you must travel during these dates, make your bookings 6 months in advance.

Rest assured that Zanzibar offers a warm tropical climate, regardless of the weather.
It is normal for tropical rain to fall all year round, usually in short bursts, and is most often welcomed relief from the hot weather.
Climate change has sadly affected all places on earth, including Zanzibar.
As a result, we cannot predict the normal patterns, as was the case when I started to promoted Zanzibar in the early 1990s.
Being a popular topic on the internet, many different opinions will be available when doing a search.
Sadly, the days are gone of being able to base your holiday plans purely on historical data.

In comparison with other tropical islands, Zanzibar has mostly been spared the worst of the tropical storms so far.

Is Zanzibar or Mauritius more expensive?

Zanzibar opened its boarders to South African passport holders in 1993, and since then, it has offered more affordable hotels and beach resorts compared to Mauritius and other tropical Island destination.

How many flying hours is it from South Africa to Zanzibar?

If booking a flight to Zanzibar, that fly direct between Johannesburg and Zanzibar, the average flight time will be around 3 hours and 25 minutes.
Direct flights to Zanzibar are currently limited to one flight per week.

Alternative flights currently available will have you fly from Johannesburg to Zanzibar via Nairobi in Kenya, or via Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
While the above alternative flight schedules are available on a daily based, the average flight time will be around 6 hours via Nairobi and 12 hours via Addis Ababa.

Do South Africans need visa for Zanzibar?

South African passport holders are currently exempted from visa formalities.
A valid passport is however still required.
In order to be considered valid, a passport must contain at least two open pages next to each other and remain valid for at least six months after the return date of the traveler.
Failing this a traveller will be prohibited from leaving the South African borders.

How many days in Zanzibar is enough?

There are many people looking to save by booking short stays on Zanzibar, but we would like to suggest you take a closer look at these factors.
In spite of the fact that you may save a little money by shortening your stay, airfares and airport transfers will not change.
Your time flying and road transfer time between Zanzibar Airport and your beach resort will remain the same, so you are only sacrificing more time to relax at the pool and on the beach, if booking short stays.
It is common for travellers to experience travel fatigue, so if you spend your first day siesta-ing, you are denying yourself the opportunity to experience Zanzibar’s wonders.
It has been our experience that a stay of 7 nights is the ideal length of time.
Also, important to make mention, resorts offer long-stay specials that allow you to stay for 7 nights and only pay for 6, making a 7 night stay the best to consider.

What time of year is the most affordable time to visit Zanzibar?

Traveling outside of high demand periods, for example Festive season, School & public holidays, will have you save allot of money.
Many travellers from Europe also prefer to travel when they experience cold winter climates, so avoiding August, September or January and February will also contribute to your savings.

Why is Zanzibar so famous as a travel destination?

Known for its idyllic beaches, great weather, and warm tropical waters, Zanzibar’s beaches draw visitors from around the world.

In Zanzibar, you will find some of the world’s most beautiful diving sites and warm waters, making it a popular destination for diving enthusiasts.

In addition to its fine beaches, Zanzibar is also home to a wide variety of fauna and flora, including the Jozani Forest.

A unique culture, history, and architecture can be found on the Island. Embark on a trip on a traditional hand-crafted wooden dhow – a remnant of the trading history of the area and still used for transport and fishing today.

Due to the farming and processing of aromatic spices such as cloves, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemongrass and black pepper on Zanzibar Island, it is known as the Spice Island.

Travelers to Zanzibar can enjoy a romantic getaway, an ideal destination for couples searching for a little spice in life.

Many visitors to the island are attracted by the traditional local markets found in Stone Town, the oldest functioning town in East Africa.

It is largely due to the friendly and helpful nature of Zanzibar’s local people that people keep coming back to the island.

What language is spoken in Zanzibar?

In Zanzibar, Swahili (also called Kiswahili) is the most widely spoken language.
English and several other European languages are spoken in tourist areas and resorts.

It is advisable to take a mosquito repellent and to cover all exposed areas of your body (e.g. neck and arms) during dusk and at night time. Very few travellers take the time to research this important aspect of travel that is available at affordable prices – compared to the benefits it offers. The cost of travel insurance does not relate to the value of the trip, but rather depends on the duration of the journey, age of the traveller and level of cover required.
